I sat down to write a blog post today about the usual; video, business, how I believe that video will explode your business, etc, etc, etc. But what really motivates me today, and what I’d like to share with you, is how profoundly grateful I am at this moment.
No, I didn’t land that big client, I didn’t get a windfall cash payment, and I’m not looking any younger or getting any closer to losing the dozens of pounds that have slowly but surely appeared on my thighs over many years.
But even in all the holiday chaos, and the mundane day to day activities of life, I am so grateful and thankful for all that I have been given. For some reason today, that feeling is overwhelming.
I was talking with someone last night over dinner (adding even more pounds) about my late husband, Kent Lindsey. She said to me, “It must be terrible losing your husband and business partner.” It is ineffably “terrible.” But instead of lamenting and agreeing with her, I found myself, telling her how grateful I was for the over 30 years we shared together, for our wonderful marriage, and how blessed I felt because of that. I am tremendously grateful that we had the kind of relationship others dream of and never have. He changed my life totally and completely and I would not be the person I am today without him.
Raising a teenager (a girl, no less) as a single mom has its, shall we say, “unique” challenges but I have to say I’m grateful for such an amazing daughter and I again just wonder what I did to deserve to be her mom.
Abundant blessings continue.
A little scamp of a dog that drives me crazy but snuggles with me at night laying right on my feet. Family. Loyal friends old and new. Repeat clients. New clients. New business opportunities. A wonderful new man in my life now who has brought joy, adventure, companionship. These are the things I’m most grateful for in my life. Because of all this, I keep evolving. Transforming. And today I’m so very grateful for it all.
My daughter recently saw the Broadway show, “Wicked” and in that show there’s a song I love and the lyrics go something like this:
I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don’t know if I believe that’s true
But I know I’m who I am today
Because I knew you…
…Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
Tomorrow, I just may write that blog post about why I think business should use video, or how Direct Me Anywhere can help you with your bottom line and business growth. But today, I just want to say how grateful I am to each and every one of you. Like the song says, our paths cross for a reason, and for that I have been changed for good.
What are you grateful for today?
With gratitude,
Pepper
